Dick Mul

Dick Mul, MD, PhD, is a pediatric endocrinologist at Diabeter Center Amsterdam. He is involved in day-to-day patient care within an Integrated Practice Unit for children and young adults with type 1 diabetes, and contributes to research evaluating care outcomes at Diabeter.

Dick completed his PhD at Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2000, with a thesis on the treatment of early puberty in adopted and non-adopted children. He subsequently trained as a paediatrician at Erasmus MC / Sophia Children's Hospital from 2001 to 2006, before specialising in paediatric endocrinology and diabetes. He then worked for many years at the Juliana Children's Hospital / HagaZiekenhuis in The Hague, where he also co-authored a practical guide on insulin pump therapy in young children with diabetes.

Dick has built an extensive national and international network in the field of paediatric and adolescent diabetes, and served as conference president of the 2023 ISPAD (International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes) annual meeting — one of the most prominent gatherings in his field worldwide. His research focuses on paediatric endocrinology and diabetes.
