DEVELOPING A NEW DUTCH DIABETES GUIDELINE
Contributing clinical expertise to future-proof diabetes care
Diabetes care is evolving rapidly, driven by developments such as continuous glucose monitoring, new medications and an increasing focus on self-management. To ensure that clinical guidance keeps pace with these changes, a multidisciplinary working group is developing a new national diabetes guideline in the Netherlands.
Diabeter nurse practitioner Sue Holleman chairs the working group, bringing expertise from daily diabetes care into the guideline development process. The new guideline will combine scientific evidence, clinical experience and the perspectives of people living with diabetes to provide practical recommendations for modern diabetes care.
Healthcare professionals working in diabetes care will also have opportunities to contribute their knowledge and experience as the guideline is developed and evaluated.
