Sarah Siegelaar

Sarah Siegelaar is an internist-endocrinologist with special expertise in women’s health in diabetes. She provides specialised care for adults with type 1 diabetes at the Diabeter Centre Amsterdam, alongside her academic appointment at Amsterdam UMC / University of Amsterdam.

Her clinical and research interests focus on diabetes management across different life stages in women, including hormonal influences, pregnancy and reproductive health in the context of type 1 diabetes. As a clinician-scientist, she combines patient care with research aimed at improving personalised treatment strategies and outcomes for women living with diabetes.

In her dual role, Sarah integrates academic insight with day-to-day clinical practice, contributing to both high-quality care and ongoing innovation in diabetes management.
