Maartje de Wit
Maartje de Wit, PhD, is an associate professor of medical psychology at Amsterdam UMC / Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, specialising in the psychosocial aspects of type 1 diabetes. Her research focuses on how psychological and behavioural factors interact with diabetes management and well-being in both youth and adults, aiming to support better health outcomes. Amsterdam UMC
Her work includes cohort and intervention studies that explore emotional adjustment, self-management and quality of life in people living with type 1 diabetes, and she contributes to the development of psycho-educational approaches that help healthcare professionals and patients address psychosocial challenges.
