Lente Blok
Lente Blok is a PhD candidate at Amsterdam UMC / University of Amsterdam, where she conducts her doctoral research within the group of Prof. Max Nieuwdorp. Her work focuses on the role of the gut microbiome and microbial metabolites in type 1 diabetes, with particular attention to interactions between immune regulation and metabolic function.
Through her research, Lente contributes to mechanistic and translational studies that aim to improve understanding of autoimmune diabetes and identify pathways relevant to future therapeutic strategies. Her work aligns with broader research efforts in diabetes that also connect to clinical research activities within the context of the Diabeter Centre Amsterdam.
