Jordi Dengerink
Jordi Dengerink is a PhD candidate and physician-researcher at Amsterdam UMC / University of Amsterdam, where he conducts his doctoral research within the group led by Prof.Max Nieuwdorp. His work focuses on type 1 diabetes, with particular attention to host–microbiome interactions and immunological mechanisms involved in disease development and progression.
Alongside his PhD research, Jordi is involved in clinical and translational studies, including projects supported by Breakthrough T1D, aimed at improving understanding of type 1 diabetes and identifying pathways relevant to future therapeutic strategies.
